The 49th Beethoven’s Hradec International Music Competition and Music Festival is announced by Talent, the Association for Arts and Education in cooperation with the National Institute for the Preservation of Historical Monuments - the Management of Hradec nad Moravicí Castle. The Competition is kindly supported by the Moravian-Silesian Regional Council, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Municipal Council of Hradec nad Moravicí, the Silesian Foundation of Opava. and other sponsors.
The competition will be held from 4 - 11 June 2010 at the castle in Hradec nad Moravicí where Ludwig van Beethoven was a guest of Count Karl Lichnovski in 1806 and 1811.
The violoncello and viola competition is for students of music schools (conservatory, college, university, academy). It has no age categories.

The application should enclose a passport size photograph.
The deadline for applications is 9 April 2010.
By 30 April 2010 applicants will be sent a notification of whether their application has been accepted and the schedule of the competition.
Entry fee
Those who receive confirmation of their application will pay an entry fee of 1.500 CZK (60 EUR) upon registration.
Accommodation
Accommodation, per diems and travel costs are not covered by the organiser. The organiser can cover the accommodation only for members of the jury and for accompanists during their active participation in the competition. Furthermore, the organiser cannot take responsibility for underage candidates, nor be liable for damage or injury caused to a candidate’s person or property.

All competition rounds are open to the public and the identity of performers will be made public without exception. The organiser reserves the right to produce audio or video recordings of competition performances which may be used for publicity purposes without the consent of the candidate. Copyright is not applicable in relation to the use of these recordings.
